South of Ravenna, extending from the mouth of the river Uniti up to Lido di Classe, is a long coastal area which comprises a compelling 3-km-long beach and the wetlands of Ortazzo and Ortazzino.

This is one of the few stretches of the Riviera Romagnola which did not undergo public works and still retains its original aspect. This territory, part of the Lidos of Ravenna, gathers plenty of different environmental patterns: a charming coastline, dunes, depressions and a lush shrub.

Public beaches are the privileged habitat of rare species of seabirds. Unlike most bathing establishments of the Riviera, the beaches of the nine Lidos of Ravenna (Casal Borsetti, Marina Romea, Porto Corsini, Marina di Ravenna, Punta Marina, Lido di Adriano, Dante, Classe and Savio) allow tourists to consume their own food at lunch.
